AE Techron Wows Feds, Earns Award.

( Elkhart ) – Though they are based in Elkhart , AE Techron conducts business all over the globe, an accomplishment that brought federal officials to town on August 23 to present the company with the US Commerce Department Export Achievement Certificate.

David Spooner, Assistant Secretary for the Import Administration, toured the Elkhart technology company. Spooner and other commerce officials from the federal and state offices discussed the sensitive electronic controlling units that are designed for companies as far away as China.

At the end of the tour, the federal visitors commented that they were surprised to see Indiana’s great contribution to high-tech industries. Spooner mentioned that AE Techron is only the second Indiana company to receive this award in 2006.

The Export Achievement Certificate was created by the US Department of Commerce to recognize small and medium-sized enterprises that have successfully entered the international marketplace for the first time or that have successfully entered new markets.
